Notes:

Issues:

  • The above Web Wallet/Members Portal design puts EVERYTHING behind a signup wall.
This is unlike any other currency. Cash can be used anywhere, by anyone, without identification. Other digital currencies are also freely available to use without identification. We will need to follow that standard. AGX/AUX is supposed to be convenient and usable as a currency, but this design would make it invasive and inconvenient.

  • Signing up for anything these days is a HUGE decision. You need to trust the organization before you hand over your name and email address. In order for that to happen you have to EARN their trust.

  • If a user downloads this wallet and can't do ANYTHING without signing up, they will uninstall it instantly.

Solutions:

If we tweak the flow we can get an opportunity to earn the users trust and eliminate immediate uninstalls.
I would:

  1. Allow the user to use the wallet with anything that is expected from other wallets, such as send/receive AGX/AUX/SYS and NEWS.

  2. SHOW LODE specific features such as Buy, Deliver, Support, Transparency Repor, Etc. as options ONLY availableo only by signing up.

  3. Allow user to access these features by completing the lengthy signup -or maybe have two different levels (Signup and KYC) to draw out the lengthy procedure over two sessions, with additional features added by each. For example: Signup only allows access to Support, Saves transaction history and gives access to Transparency Report, whereas KYC finally allows you to BUY and Deliver.

This allows base level usability without invasiveness. The user gets a feel for what LODE can do and can see targeted information before taking the leap and completing Sign up/TOS/KYC - which is actually a huge decision that LODE will need to earn their trust for.

Additional Notes regarding Design:

  • There’s no Send/Receive on above design unless it is depicted by “Transfer” which is terminology unlike any other currency.

  • In above design there’s no section for 2FA in Profile.

  • Physical Silver/Gold could be listed in same Assets page

  • Physical Silver/Gold “Exchange” (“Deliver” is confusing and could be clarified)

  • Add a “backup and recover passphrase” feature. With Signup/KYC and 2FA completed, theres an opportunity to allow the user to send their encrypted passphrase to the portal DB.

  • Portal needs a confirmed SYS address for Rewards/Epin/Minting procedures.

  • A “Dashboard” is not necessary.

  • Needs SumSub

Additional Notes regarding Parity:

  • “Change Languages” OS language in Mobile is currently detected automatically. Web should be able to do this too.
